Dear Renata
Thanks for your observations and it is great that the Croatian are already
working on this! That's great news! I believe we had agreed that there
will some flexibility in the early years curriculum to address the needs
of very young children, but that this will take place within the agreed
general framework. The curriculum is spiral, building from one year to the
other, so maybe if we can stick to the 7 general themes we agree upon
together, the way these are developed, including specific themes within
the general themes, may be different for the early years from the primary
school years.
Re goals and expectations, I also suggest we follow the same format we
agree upon (activities format document)where possible (objective, level,
resources, etc...); in this way the final products we produce for the
three age groups would be complementary and sequential but adapted to the
respective age group. I suggest you and your team, Anastassios, Mariza,
Paul and myself hold a skype meeting together maybe, as the three partners
involved in the early years curriculum to discuss this in more detail.
What do you think?
regards
Carmel

Dear All
Thank you for the framework, themes and activities.
Croatian team has a need of writing a kind of introduction for preschool
curriculum, pedagogic and psychological theoretical base (before we go to
activities). We all agree with the general framework, but would like to do
something more specific for preschool children. Two members of our team
are curriculum experts, used to set up goals and expectations at the
beginning (and evaluation at the end) of process. What do you think, how
long should it be? Should we translate it to English at this point? Or
just present at the meeting in Zagreb?
Best regards,
Renata

Subject: Revised documents 18th March 2013

Dear all
Kindly find the revised framework, themes and activities, I think now they
look a lot better, thank you all for your very useful feedback. Kindly
send me your feedback on the revised documents by Friday of this week if
possible, if we see there is a general agreement, then we can each take a
theme and start working on it as a tentative draft. It would be ideal if
we could manage to hold a skype meeting all together to discuss the issues
and plan together, but I understand presently it is quite close to easter
and many of us are very busy and will be on holiday soon. Maybe we can
hold the meeting on the week starting 8th April after the easter recess.
best regards
Carmel
